On top of this list is Arianna Huffington, a superwoman, who, at the age of 54, founded her own media company, The Huffington Post. She headed the company as CEO for 11 years, until she decided to step away from her namesake in 2016, selling the company to Buzzfeed, and starting her health and wellness startup, Thrive Global.

It was an unprecedented move that piqued the interest of everyone, but it turns out Arianna took inspiration from having a burnout. Deep into her work as Huffington Post’s CEO, one day, she collapsed from exhaustion, hit her head on her desk, and broke her cheekbone. The accident, she tells Inc. Magazine, made her realize burnout was a universal problem.

She created Thrive Global to become a leading change behavior technology company with the mission to end the stress and burnout epidemic. When Lauren Ash was finishing her yoga teacher certification training in 2014, she noticed she was consistently the only black girl of color in the studio. This bothered her, believing there are many like her who love yoga, but perhaps were looking for a more inclusive community to belong in.

This prompted her to found Black Girl in Om, a virtual and real-life wellness community that caters exclusively to Black women, a platform for wellness workshops in meditation, yoga and journaling. In just six years, her online health and wellness platform has attracted thousands of followers. Featured in Vogue, SELF, and many women-empowering magazines, Lauren has successfully pivoted Black Girl in Om to a yearly event or talk series, an online platform, a podcast, a website, and just this year, she even released a sleep-focused guided-meditation E.P.

At a young age, twenty-four-year-old Grace Beverley wears many hats. She started as a YouTuber when she was 16 years old, becoming one of the UK’s biggest fitness YouTubers. But she didn’t stop there.

While studying as an undergrad, Grace started building businesses like gym equipment brand B_ND and sustainable fitness label TALA.

In her various interviews online, Grace recounts that when she was young, she had an unhealthy relationship with food. As a child, she was a competitive gymnast, but things changed when she was involved in a car accident. She started eating bad food, sometimes surviving on a block of cheese the entire day. Though she was wafer-thin, she hated her body.

All this changed when she discovered veganism. She began doing clean eating, transitioned to a plant-based diet, and eventually went full vegan. Grace’s life drastically changed, and she documented her new healthy lifestyle in her vlog, which eventually became her life and career. And oh, did we mention Grace lifts weights?

At present, Grace juggles her time as a social media star and as owner of several businesses, including her new fitness and workout app Shreddy.
